Accommodations for Testing

For Students with Disabilities

If a student with a disability or English Language Learner (ELL) requires a unique accommodation on a state assessment beyond those routinely allowed and the accommodation does not change the construct being measured by the state assessment, the school may request approval for the use of the unique accommodation. The unique accommodation request must be submitted by the principal to the Office of State Assessment. The request must be on school letterhead and signed by the principal. Requests must be faxed to 518-474-1989 or emailed to emscassessinfo@nysed.gov at least two weeks prior to the test administration period. If approved, the accommodation must be listed in the Individualized ÃØÃÜÑо¿Ëù Program (IEP) or 504 plan for a student with a disability.
